What is a weekly schedule?
A weekly schedule defines on which days of the week and for how many hours employees work. This is especially important for part-time employees, as working time and vacation entitlement may be calculated differently depending on whether they work on specific weekdays or distribute their working time evenly across all weekdays.
Full-time employees (100%, Mon - Fri)
Contract configuration at employee level:

- Working time: 42 hours/week (8.4 hours/day)
- Vacation entitlement: 5 working weeks (25 working days)
- Holiday hours: 210 hours/year (25 days x 8.4 hours/day)
Part-time employees with weekly schedule (60% workload, Mon - Wed)
Contract configuration at employee level:

- Working time: 25.2 hours/week (8.4 hours on 3 days)
- Vacation entitlement: 5 working weeks (15 working days)
- Holiday hours: 126 hours/year (5 x 3 days x 8.4 hours/day; accrued pro rata on these 3 days)
Part-time employees without weekly schedule (60% workload, Mon - Fri)
Contract configuration at employee level:

- Working time: 25.2 hours/week (5 days/week, 5.04 hours/day)
- Vacation entitlement: 5 working weeks (25 working days)
- Holiday hours: 126 hours/year (25 days x 5.04 hours/day)
Explanation
- Full-time employees (100%, Mon - Fri):
- Work 5 days per week (Monday to Friday) with 8.4 working hours per day.
- Vacation entitlement: 5 working weeks (25 working days), equal to 210 vacation hours per year (25 days x 8.4 hours/day).
- Part-time employees with weekly schedule (60% workload, Mon - Wed):
- Work 3 days per week (Monday to Wednesday) with 8.4 working hours per day.
- Vacation entitlement: 5 working weeks, where one working week equals 3 days, i.e., 15 working days. This equals 126 vacation hours per year (15 days x 8.4 hours/day).
- Vacation balance is accrued only on working days.
- Example: If the year has 158 Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, accrual per working day is 126h / 158d = 0.7975h.
- Part-time employees without weekly schedule (60% workload, Mon - Fri):
- Work 5 days per week (Monday to Friday) with 5.04 working hours per day.
- Vacation entitlement: 5 working weeks (25 working days), equal to 126 vacation hours per year (25 days x 5.04 hours/day).
- Example: If the year has 262 weekdays, accrual per working day is 126h / 262d = 0.4809h.
Summary
- Full-time employees (100%, Mon - Fri): 5 working weeks of vacation (25 days at 8.4 hours = 210 hours/year)
- Part-time employees with weekly schedule (60% workload, Mon - Wed): 5 working weeks of vacation (15 days at 8.4 hours = 126 hours/year)
- Part-time employees without weekly schedule (60% workload, Mon - Fri): 5 working weeks of vacation (25 days at 5.04 hours = 126 hours/year)
Vacation entitlement is 5 working weeks for all employees, but the number of vacation days and hours is calculated based on workload and distribution of working days.
